Same!
Elf is one of the rare live action WF movies we enjoy - but *only* once a year! 🤣

Did you make a wish?!

It's Will Ferell doing Will Ferell things in a christmas movie. If you like his stuff, you'll love Elf.
There's some cringey parts, some genuinely funny bits; overall, a wonderfully wholesome experience.

Absolutely adore these movies. They're so dang fun to watch, and it's easy to tell they had a blast making them.

The first one draws you in with claustrophobia and tension. After that, you stay because it gets so, so, damn unhinged!

As someone who enjoys a runny egg yolk, I'll absolutely be switching to hard/scrambled til this clears up - if ever.
I'll happily dip my toast in something else, if it minimizes the risk

Yes, hurt people CAN hurt people, and...

It takes a certain level of dedication and awareness to be able to transform the negative memories and experiences into something more compassionate.

Good on you for doing the compassionate thing

Uhmmm.... Hwat

This.
It drives me nuts, because 9 times outta 10, the "deluxe/gold/whatever" edition is effectively the "complete game".
Like, putting the base(demo) game on a deep discount, and slapping -10% on "gold"(or in this case NO discount) is absolutely a no-sale

Tonight, we finish American Psycho

💯 absolutely a banger of a movie! Damn near perfection!
And it's funny, because apparently both Brendan Frasier and Rachel Weisz are in talks to do another Mummy movie!!

Will put a trigger warning on this movie, as it may hit some viewers who have a history of childhood/family abuse a bit hard.

My personal actions at work yesterday will not stop the tide. But patiently teaching an improperly trained person may help them navigate the tide a bit better. And hopefully, they can teach others/their coworkers how to navigate, and so on, and on, until, hopefully, the tide is nothing more.

Ultimately? WE must make the decision to collectively stop it.
Until then? We continue to show boldness and compassion, in the face of anger, hate, fear.

When an elected official does not represent us, or only represents the worst of/in us, it is us who will represent ourselves - from the hyper-local, to the global. Words, music, art, actions, all spiral out.

We embody the ideal in whatever way we can. We take whatever platform we have available (work, art, social media, clubs, etc) and we share it with others in whatever big or small way we can. How we act on the playing field; a convo with a coworker; a post online.

Pondering the cube.
Always pondering.

Pardon me, but what in the gorgeously bizarre fever-dream is this?? I have a need to watch it!

Gotta be honest on this one; it was kind of neat, but not super fun, nor tense. The concept was not quite fleshed out enough to really draw me in, and suspend sense of disbelief to really enjoy it. Solid ⭐⭐/5 for me, fwiw.

Oddly enough, would agree on anticipating the 2nd one.

It takes, it "borrows", it contorts, instead of creates.

No, I grew up dreaming of what AI could be capable of. A diet of classic SF still did not prepare me for the horrors of what it has become.

AI "art" is vapid words and shapes smeared into space, lacking any definition. It is "art" for the sake of saying, "behold, Art!"

It is equally the senate arguing what "is a Man", and Diogenes holding a featherless chicken up

It lacks the ephemeral, exquisite, effervescent spark of existence
