The C diff infection of 2023 wrecked me. As a result, I'll be having surgery on 8/25 to fix some stuff. I've been doing physical therapy and general exercise for a couple months to prepare. Today I really noticed results, like being able to get up off the floor without leaning on anything. 🙂

I was listening to a podcast where a murder victim's family was giving impact statements in court. The victim's cousin talked about sharing a birthday with her and his birthday was now bittersweet with her gone.
Hard to hear the same situation as I'm in, sharing a birthday with a murdered cousin.

I've been trying to just sketch and doodle on my digital tablet a little bit each day. Thanks to @hurmly.bsky.social for encouraging me to just take a loose approach like doodling in a school notebook. I'm getting much more comfortable with the tablet.
