But I do think that wildwood Elezen wouldn't share the pupils or the sharper incisors and molars that I attribute to Ishgardians bc like the idea of giving them subtly dravanian features teehee Eep Sleepington Today at 1:37 PM The question is whether or not WW or DW would have the nictitating membrane I'm tempted to say it's universal bc I think all Elezen have tapetum lucidum Which would increase photosensitivity in the daytime + negatively affect vision I mean I like saying elves in general would have tapetum lucidum bc they commonly are given dark vision And the nictitating membrane would be clearer than w dogs or cats (perhaps more akin to the style that owls have) Would give them UV protection and shield their eyes against the sun It's why l at least often draw Elezen w yellow-tinted sclera :3 Makes owls look zooted as hell

• Setting is a city called Angakaze. Aesthetically, it is a pretty even blend of high Fantasy and science Fiction characteristics. • Magic use is Fairly heavily regulated within the city and is largely restricted to government officials and upper-class members of society, though that doesn't necessarily stop less law-abiding citizens From toying with it behind closed doors. O Higher-ranking members of the military are permitted to use magic, with the breadth of their knowledge being largely contingent on rank. O This serves as a major selling point to have lower-class citizens enlist. • Technology exists, though it is seemingly exclusively powered by magic or enchantments. Due to this, it is also largely limited to elite members of society. However, this scenario has created an abundance of black market trade. Angakaze Aesthetic: • The typical garb of Angakaze's residents tends towards a Fairly even blend of steampunk and high-Fantasy aesthetics. • However, due to the city's reputation as a hub for trade and commerce, it is not uncommon to see a great deal of diversity in the street wear and appearance of civilians. Government: • Angakaze is an absolute monarchy. • However, the monarch is nameless and Faceless to the public, referred to only as the Queen. • Because the identity of the Queen is such a tightly-kept secret, the line and means of succession are wholly unknown. • Even those appointed to the maintenance of various aspects of the city, such as inFrastructure, military, etc. don't have direct contact with their monarch. • Only those directly stationed in the Court are supposedly aware of the Queen's identity. O Despite Angakaze being an old city with a rich social and economic history, any history of the monarchy has either been efFaced or kept off the public record. The Queen and Her Inner Circle • Since Angakaze's Founding, the city and its surrounding territories have been under the rule of a Figure ambiguously referred to as "The Queen." O The Queen is never referred to by name, only by title, She, and Her. • Or, oftentimes, by far less complimentary names when Her existence is uttered by members of lower society. O There are no known or public records of the line of succession, including any information at all pertaining to the royal Family. O Any records of how many Queens there have been are unavailable to the public. • Any external negotiations and diplomacy are carried out by the inner circle of The Queen, though these instances are Few and Far between, given Angakaze's Firmly neutral political standing. O The identities of The Queen's closest confidantes are largely kept secret, though information pertaining to a handful of those who Function as diplomats or civil servants is more readily available. • Angakaze is a total monarchy, with legislation presumably being penned by The Queen herself and released to the public by her inner circle. Function: • Angakaze's primary trade and sales output is magitech. It has an incredibly well-equipped and well-populated military, despite seldom being engaged in active warfare. • Angakaze's most inFamous characteristic are its various laws and regulations that bar the general populace From practicing magic. Those who wish to pursue the magical arts must hold a government position, attend a paid institution, enroll in the military, or be grandFathered in via Family social status. This makes legal magic usage highly inaccessible to most lower-class citizens, unless they are willing to join the military. O Those with the drive and Financial means to do so will occasionally pursue magical study and practice abroad, though upon returning to Angakaze, are unable to legally practice magic without seeking oFficial registry. • Technology is almost exclusively powered by magic and enchantments, and due to its high price and the various restrictions placed upon magic usage in city walls, it is predominantly used by soldiers, the wealthy, and government oFficials. In addition to its significant role in the trade economy, magitech is very heavily used within the city walls. • Black market trade and illegal magic practice run rampant in the city, despite the government's vigilant and repeated eFforts to squash such occurrences. • There are whispers of various resistance efforts to topple the monarchy, though the actual presence of an organized group is seldom acknowledged.

Actually 💕 I am gonna toss up some original, non-spoilery worldbuilding notes and writing that I ended up using in aforementioned campaign #angakaze
It was said that, from the beginning, Agthios was the Aspect of Aeon charged with wealth and prosperity, and wherever he tread, whatever he touched, would turn to gold. What brings such riches oft bears with it great loneliness, however, and an immortal god such as Agthios had little purpose for the material goods that lesser beings so craved. Precious metals do little to sustain life, and thus, Agthios' domain was void of the lush beauty that surrounding lands so boasted. In the desert he resided, and in his isolation did he ever yearn for more. In this time when gods and men walked side by side, his land was called the Wastes, and it came to pass that mortals who wronged their people, perhaps by shame or grave misdeeds, were exiled to this barren land to die. It was this practice that led a human man named Iro to find himself in the wastes. Though the nature of his crime differs from region to region, the most popular iteration of the tale suggests he was prosecuted for dealing with Infernals, for even in the days of old did different beings seek to wage war against powers they did not understand. Iro's will was strong, however, and his mind just as clever, and so where a lesser man might have found himself succumbing to the elements within days or weeks, Iro persisted Deeper into the desert did his travels take him, and he survived off whatever meager flora and fauna he could find. Ever deeper into the Wastes did he creep, until he came face to face with Agthios himself. In the absence of society, of any other hierarchy, the banished man and the solitary god formed a bond most strong. The longing for company that resided in Agthios' heart evolved into a sympathy for mortals, a love for the way they laughed, the ways they experienced joy, the ways they would take risks, even in the face of their fragility. Though they could not touch, Agthios and Iro came to love one another, and through watching Iro and hearing him regale his tales did Agthios' sense of humanity come to be. Years crept by, and Iro grew ever aware of how much more sharply Agthios would feel his former solitude when Iro's mortal nature came to pass. It was with this knowledge that Iro offered himself as a vessel to the god. A way for him to touch the mortal world with his own fingers. A buffer to the power that charged immortal skin. Though most of Iro would be lost, he wished nothing more than to give his love whatever he could, even if it meant prematurely leaving him behind. In exchange, what little of Iro was left would be carried with Agthios for eternity, and the two would experience the joys, the beauty, the darkness, and the pain of the world as one. The god was reluctant to lose Iro, but the latter was insistent. Time passed, Iro's body grew weaker, and Agthios came to the realization that the mortal he so cared for would be lost to him one way or another. The choice was obvious, and with a heavy heart did he concede. And so did Agthios, made flesh, venture out into the world in full. Filled with a newfound appreciation for the expression of joy and chance, he grew to become the patron god of gambling and revelry. Civilization expanded, and those who eventually ventured forth to inhabit the Wastes went on to find the sand and stone rich with gold, and so, despite the sparseness of resources, the Wastes evolved to become Agthia, a center of wealth, with a booming trade industry that compensated for its own lack of national resources. To this day, it stands as one of the twelve kingdoms of the world of Aeon and Agthios worshipped as its patron god.
