I'm watching Q-Who? again, and once again annoyed at how that movie ruined such an awesome antagonist

I'm worried that when society generally clues in to how much these current LLMs are very far away from being any sort of general intelligence, that we'll take the wrong message and think that general artificial intelligence is impossible.

My youngest kid is going to be playing a game at school called Survival, where it's in the woods, and you're either an herbivore, omnivore, or carnivore. It's basically educational larping as animals.
Does anywhere know where I could find a description of this game online?

I still think about how the big villain plan in Batman Returns was to make money from reducing carbon emissions

The more people want to live in an area, the more some of them will be willing to pay to live there, so the more land will cost in that area.

The only way to offset that is to make the area less desirable, or to change the buildings there to house more people

Weird hypothetical. Someone who's into RPGs (and not just D&D) ends up a billionaire. They decide to start throwing lots of money (relative to the RPG, not their own wealth) at some vanity publishing company to make the RPGs they want.
What would happen in terms of knock on effects?

Did you ever notice how Canada shows it's territories on pictures/maps of the country, but the US usually does not?

Old school MET larp hot take: the Bomb would only be useful if you didn't have to declare you can use it. It would have to be a surprise

Also applies to RPGs as well

If someone who doesn't know anything about writing software travels with the Tardis, would source code all look like clearly written pseudocode to them?
