Very cool Casey, sounds like OpenAI's agent thing is extremely stupid and sucks and doesn't do anything interesting, and is also broken. Sounds like a really "compelling demonstration"

I feel like at some point the media needs to stop covering these announcements without actually using them. Can it actually do these things? has anyone seen them do it? How many times did it take to get it right?
OpenAI just unveiled Operator, its AI agent that's designed to automate tasks like planning vacations, making restaurant reservations & ordering groceries, directly competing with an earlier release from rival Anthropic. Currently debuting in research preview mode.

I am going insane. This company will lose $10bn this year! Generative AI has peaked! There isn't a sustainable business model, and the products are mediocre and error prone and don't even do anything cool despite costing billions and accelerating climate change and stealing everybody's artwork!
I'm old enough to remember the last time OpenAI was pledging to build a big stupid supercomputer called Stargate. Nobody wanna talk about this? How stupid this shit is? How absolutely stupid all of this god damn generative AI shit is?

Exclusive: OpenAI and SoftBank each are committing $19 billion to fund Stargate, an joint venture to develop data centers for artificial intelligence.

This is actually crazy
Even when they were explaining how the cam op was running ahead with the camera on a gimbal stick, I could have never imagined it being upside down
It only makes sense now that i see it

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

Closed captions and subtitles aren't the same thing.

Sometimes "subtitles" describes either a translation OR a transcription of English audio, but "closed captions" can't be used interchangeably that way. They're only for the spoken audio (i.e. English dubs) and feature sound effect descriptions.

There are currently only 22 films streaming on Netflix made before 1980 and not a single one made before 1960, with the oldest film on the platform currently being PSYCHO. I know I’m a broken record but: buy physical media, support your local library, etc etc
