Mostly just post about the books I read
This was a solid mid tier Cosmere novel. It had immersive storytelling, a dangerous setting, a satisfying magic system, a solid protagonist, and a Hoid appearance. It’s getting fun seeing how Sanderson is tying his universe together. I loved getting an extended Sigzil POV. #booksky

I think I’ll always pick up new P. Djèlí Clark without hesitation. This one was brief but fun. The characters have personality, the representation, and I love how he paired it with a fantasy world. I especially liked how this fantasy world is culturally informed. #booksky

I enjoyed this one for the most part. Stories that blend horror and colonialism have a lot of potential and I always am down for a haunted house story. The most compelling parts of this book were Jade’s navigation of her feelings of displacement as a second-generation immigrant

I enjoyed this one. Donna Tart’s writing was engaging and I felt effectively inserted, through Richard, into the classics bubble within the bubble of Hampen College. I shared his fascination with his classmates and eventual disillusionment if not his admiration. #booksky

The Scourge Between Stars mostly reads lime a retelling of Alien. It does feature a queer black woman as a main character, which is great, but it doesn’t do much else to separate itself from the Alien influence. #booksky

I enjoyed Camp Zero while reading it. The prose was good and the setting was depressingly believable. I think climate dystopic novels are going to be what give me the most anxiety moving forward. The rich having a sheltered havens from the consequences is definitely going to happen.

I love this series. Each entry starts with a jarring resetting of my expectations which elevates the immersion for me. Muir’s character work really shines here. I really loved my time spent with Nona, her family, and gang even though I came into this eager for more Harrow. Can’t wait for Alecto!

One of my favorite things about reading is being thoroughly won over by a book I wasn’t initially vibing with. The Hoid narrations with the Secret Project books I’ve read so far just don’t work for me, however witnessing Yumi and Nikaro give life to each other more than made up for it #BookSky

I don't normally read graphic novels, so that was a fun change of pace. Sanderson's forward sets pretty clear expectations for the experience. It was still fun to get some background on Khriss and see Sand Mastery in its original context. #Booksky #whitesand #cosmere

This was wonderfully disorientating. Muir’s capturing of Harrow's trauma, and madness was immersive and at times I felt as lost as her. It really comes together at the end. I'm almost as excited to read this one again as a I am to continue on with the series. #Booksky #HarrowTheNinth
