to be clear, i have a step-child who i am a full-time parent of. i had planned to never have kids because of all these reasons and more. but now I spend half my time being anxious about what life will look like for our kid and how to prepare her for this world.

as a parent, nothing makes me want to tell my friends to have kids like staring down the $100,000 price tag on public college. or daycare costs greater than people’s income.
