Trees are literally solar powered, converting sunlight into wood. This group wants to culture tree cells in reactors- which would require feeding the culture sugars processed from another plant. Absolutely. I read "China Rx" and was shocked by the near 100% overseas mfg of API and KSM, but also the poor oversight and product adulteration that was going on. This should be a national security issue, not a tariff target to score political points.

The comment was in response to the HHS layoffs yesterday. I think he's trying to be optimistic and highlight non-academic opportunities, but given the gravity of the situation the post seemed tone deaf.
