Guillermo Del Toro has such a fascinating filmography. Because you have all these movies of dark fantasy, thematic depth, and horror like Pan’s Labyrinth, and Frankenstein… and then right in the middle is Pacific Rim. That’s not a criticism, I’m just saying there’s whiplash.

I’m not here for high art, I’m here because Cameron keeps scratching that specific autistic itch I have for in depth worldbuilding.
