It's a nonsensical justification, but it's impossible not to see that perhaps that is where they are headed. Will this be the next attempt by conservatives to control curriculum?

His justification relies on the point that only those topics should be taught necessary for obtaining professional licensure or certificate. He repeats this several times.

Does every degree at Texas Tech result in a professional license or certificate? Obviously not.
