I'm new! I'm the Dir of Choirs at Oregon State University. I'm always looking for community in music, politics, higher ed, sports, and generally intelligent talk about anything. I enjoyed many of the younger composers, musicologists, and theorists who seemed to be on Twitter, or at least they were.
So true.

AOC: I want to remind you where the real crime is. It's in the oligarchs taking $170 billion of our money from health care and food assistance and public programs and taking that and funneling it into a secret police program.

Great @chronicle.com article on why Flagships are doing well in this time of disruption in Higher Ed. This matches my experience at @oregonstate.edu to a T. Despite the new threat of Trump and Republicans in general to research universities...

When the U.S. uses the military against citizens, attacks immigrants, and executes people who pose no threat, it jeopardizes our national security because it incites violence, invites retaliation, normalizes fascism, and sets precedence for others to follow suit. Trump is endangering America.

Houses are expensive because billionaires gobble up homes and fix the rent or turn them into Airbnbs. The billionaires want you to think immigrants are buying up all the property.

The Trump Admin is a test, and we are all being tested. And it is revealing who we all are.

The clean up from this is going to be really really difficult. Will we have the leaders that have the will and fortitude to do the work?

Vaccines DO NOT cause autism - there is extensive research showing this. Resurrecting old, discredited, fraudulent work is shameful.

Vaccine-preventable illnesses are serious - this is going to cause real harms.

This is dangerous & disappointing.
