- ‘Ensure that such procedures are efficient, fair and non-discriminatory, and
respect the dignity and privacy of the person concerned’.
- ‘No one shall be forced to undergo medical procedures, including sex
reassignment surgery, sterilisation or hormonal therapy, as a requirement for
legal recognition of their gender identity’.
- ‘No status, such as marriage or parenthood, may be invoked as such to prevent
the legal recognition of a person’s gender identity’.
- ‘Ensure that changes to identity documents will be recognised in all contexts
where the identification or disaggregation of persons by gender is required by
law or policy’.
- Remove requirements to satisfy medical (including psychiatric), civil status, age
preconditions or ‘real-life experience’ (RLE) requirements."

... which definitely isn't to say UK should do ID cards - it shouldn't. Horrible idea given (1) stated intent makes it clear it would be used to target migrants and minorities and (2) even if they weren't already so blatant about it, UK gov't has a terrible track record

One sign its pure transphobia is their argument is total horseshit on its own terms. Why would gender change on ID disappear you? Other EU countries have ID cards allowing this. IDs have numbers. People have names. People (trans or not) can change their names. People sometimes change nationalities

When I need a diversion I look up reviews of random nearby places on Google maps. Found this petrol station today and it's a classic of the genre.
