i made photo cards yesterday (+ a secret souvenir one that has the place we went to and people signed their names on the back so it’s not here). i had fun!!!

it’s a Terror Camp miracle: a production issue caused Francis to be on the wrong slide of the sled. I fixed it but then James was upside down, and I gave up on shaking it until he was fixed and had this charm on my wall like that for months. I put him on my purse today. he’s right side up now????

However Mordred is kiiiind of Kay’s poor little meow meow. And also they should kiss. When they’re not snarling at each other, they team up against everyone else and it’s a 10/10 dynamic.

Mordred is a nightmare for Mordred reasons. They teamed up bc they’re the only people who can stand each other long enough to run the errand they’re trying to complete, but they both have ulterior motives (Kay to seek help from witches). “Can stand each other” is doing a loooooot of heavy lifting:

I cannot stress enough how much Mordred has Blorbo of All Time energy in Idylls of the Queen. He spends half the book hoping someone will kill him, and the other half displaying Severe Mommy Issues. He’s the Watson to Kay’s Holmes. He is always carving little snakes and/or serving cunt. This bit:

i read idylls of the queen yesterday and deeply enjoyed it
Highlight: Page 38 “God damn you to Hell, Mordred!" "Very likely." It was his standard response whenever I, or anyone else, damned him. "Indeed, I have had it on the authority of a saint that my damnation is a fact already recorded wherever they record such matters. So you see, when I speak of Her Grace as a small heap of ashes, I have good reason to sympathize with that same small heap of ashes." Highlight: Page 39 Mordred and I could get along more companionably with each other, most of the time, than most other men could get along with either of us.

What’s weird is there is a corner of our yard where we put the compost—and it doesn’t have anything growing like this except for weeds.
