Procedurally generated maps tend to feel pretty samey most of the time, but I wonder if part of the reason is that tuning the algorithm is a different part of the brain from authoring specific things ("content")

It still feels weird to me that all the major JavaScript database libraries seemingly use the term "relations" wrong. Not in the Biblical sense or anything, but it's a reference to relational algebra, and I see people using it to mean foreign key associations.

I'm really struck by how tutorials for game development software (e.g. "engines") never even try to explain the concepts or abstractions or architecture they're built around, which are the main things I want to know. It's like when someone tries to explain the rules of a board game.
