Day 29: Favorite RKO film noir

So many fun ones but Murder My Sweet and Out of the Past are not only two of my favorite noirs, but two of my favorite of any genre.

Day 26: Favorite Neo-Noir - The Big Lebowski may not be pure neonoir, but it’s close enough for me. It’s a neonoir that took a detour through a bowling alley and discovered transcendental goofiness. The Dude as a stoner Marlowe is all the noir clarity I need. #NoirvemberChallenge

If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Day 24: Favorite Film Noir Poster

Maybe more post-noir than noir. Someone once described Touch of Evil as noir's epitaph, and I feel like Vertigo, which also was from '58, was its rebirth.

It's a perfect movie with an unforgettable poster. This one is hanging in my house.

I've had the same p-bass for decades and never really thought of getting anything else but no one told me there was a Les Paul-style Hofner.

I know it's hardly the top priority, but could is there any way we could add "mandatory headphone jack on every smartphone" to the Woke 2 agenda?

I just love it when someone nails it with one perfect vulgar one-liner
pretty sure a lot of Homer's entire shit was like "look at this fucking shit. look how much it sucks."

Resign.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

What happened, @nytimes.com? Why not stand by your original headline? Because it’s absolutely an accurate representation of this trash conversation.

To publish this at all should be a fireable offense - but to publish it as women’s rights are being decimated is deeply immoral, bordering on evil

Rereposting b/c I can't math and forgot the hashtag.

The original War of The Worlds broadcast was 87 years ago today. Listening to it has been my Halloween eve tradition for ages.

CUNY is the nation’s largest urban public university system and an engine of social mobility for the city's working class.

But like so many of our public institutions, Andrew Cuomo subject it to years of disinvestment and neglect as Governor. That record cannot be forgotten.

Really amazing. You can do it without the pressure cooker with canned beans and a few modifications. We had it with Beyond cajun style sausage.

I would like to know if there is a name for the psychological phenomenon where a person always needs to drive faster than the person in front of them and slower than the person behind them. If not, I propose calling it the NYS Route 17 Effect.
