They also assume that the amount of thinking that goes into designing a cool spaceship is thinking "I'm gonna draw a cool spaceship"

Can't believe the guy who wrote "The Road to Character" and divorced his wife to marry his decades younger research assistant on "The Road to Character" does not appear to have strong moral character

I love when you find out that a cool looking thing came from an artist seeing something that wasn't at all related to the thing they were doing. The Millenium Falcon is shaped the way it is because George Lucas saw a hamburger next to an olive and liked the shape. AI isn't going to do that.

There was a video game that tried to do this a few years back - you had to dub over a bunch of like b-movie clips and old PSAs en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_th...

Yeah, I mostly keep one attached to an old Pentax 50mm Macro lens that I use for scanning negatives with my Fuji mirrorless. Great little lens.

Yeah that doesn't totally shock me actually. Any of the Pentax K Mount cameras should work seamlessly with m42 with an adapter ring. If you want to go Soviet-bloc eastern european, the Zenits are fun and cheap (reliability is a toss up though)

Alternatively, there are pretty cheap m42 adapters for a bunch of other SLR mounts.

This one on KEH is probably a decent bet - their "ugly" grade is usually totally fine to use, just means it has some scratches, but nothing that should affect the operation www.keh.com/shop/pentax-...

Pentax Spotmatic is probably going to be the easiest to find/most likely to work. They're built like a tank, fully mechanical, pretty easy to pick up cheap.

The venn diagram between people who like AI "art" and people who can't notice motion smoothing on their tv is a perfect circle

I mean this is one more reason to uncouple work from basic survival. Work and process is more enjoyable when the prospect of a failure isn't "I can't pay rent/get food/go to a doctor"

And that isn't even considering how often people are laid off or underpaid despite doing good work.

Yes, that's the starting dose. I had some constipation and a little tiredness the day or two after the dose, but otherwise nothing bad.

Also, the TMP novelization is written by Roddenberry and might be one of the strangest Trek things ever made.

There's a good edit of the film that takes it down to about a half hour and sets it to the Tron Legacy score that might be the best way to experience it

A 22 minute Recut of 'Star Trek-The Motion Picture' set to Daft Punk's modern original score for 'Tron: Legacy'. I always thought the two…

Agreed. But also disgusted that zoomers' love of vertical video extends even to porn.
