These can be locally manufactured for New Yorkers by New Yorkers in a small network of micro-manufacturers. Fabrication shops can weld chassis and single Mom's can make wire harnesses in their apartments. It's a very flexible concept that requires minimum tooling and minimum training.

This idea applies to much more than just ebikes - we built a simple Lightweight Electric Vehicle (LEV or NEV - Neighborhood Electric Vehicle) in six months for under $10K in a single car garage by one person. It was a small delivery van that worked very well.

The amount of energy that we are wasting with AI to draw pictures and make videos is nauseating. Energy costs keep going up as well as greenhouse gas emissions. Only in the USA.
