Voters in the canton of Zurich on 30 November rejected the "Mehr bezahlbare Wohnungen" pre-emption-right initiative, while a counterproposal was narrowly approved.

Today, Swiss voters will vote on two nation-wide referendums (popular initiatives):
▪️on replacing compulsory military service with a civic duty extended to women ( #ServiceCitoyen)
▪️on introducing an inheritance tax ( #Erbschaftssteuer) for the very rich
to fund measures to fight climate change

Today, Swiss voters will vote on two nation-wide referendums (popular initiatives):

The government opposed it and I'm sure the wealthy in Switzerland were able to campaign effectively through the media and otherwise... but at the end of the day the proposal commanded less than 20% support.
