Oopsie. I've got some ongoing health stuff, but I'm writing anyways. It's frustrating, but accepting yourself is a big rule of living w/ disability. I wrote yesterday. I'll write more today. Stay positive 🧡

Jake stepped out of the car and stretched. 'Well we can't go around it, anyway,' he said. One side of the road was thick with prickly hedges, and on the other a steep ditch would have claimed any car stupid enough to try and drive around the blockade. Cautiously, he approached the police car. 'Looks like the keys are in the- oh shit!' He jumped back at the sudden movement of a police officer in the back of the car lunging towards the window. 'Well thats one way of keeping people out. Block the roads with fucking dolphin flu.'

He grabbed a surfboard out of habit and ran out, sleeves of his wetsuit trailing behind him, to see what was going on to have made a dozen excitable tweens leave in such a hurry. Being more practiced at running on the sand than most of his students, he soon caught up and found what was so exciting. 'Ok, everybody, stay away please,' he said as the dolphin came into view. 'Come on, don't get too close, you don't know if it's safe.' 'I think it's still alive,' one little girl said, a quiver in her voice.

Perhaps you should listen to her more often, rather than treat her like something to protect.” Okay, that stung. Mick shut his mouth and felt his glare dissolve into a fuzzy, weak something. The Dead God gave him the ghost of a smile. “She’s a person, Mick, not a goddess. It would be best to see her like a person. It may be vital for your survival,” the Dead God said. Mick blushed. “I-I don’t think I like what you’re insinuating here. I’ve always seen Eleanor as a person.” “Yes. More so than most other people. I know. So you say.” The Dead God waved a hand in the air. “And yes, I realize you think you have more important things to worry about, but perhaps the message is less about trivial matters and more a hint about your best path forward.”
