Was it ever about the money? Not all of the externalities are delayed, so the net outlays are likely insignificant. It was performative economics - for their perceived judges/critics in "the market". I hoped Labour would be competent technocrats - a low yet realistic bar. They failed to clear that.

So, using systemd-analyze, I was able to add several options to my service files for Minecraft and Luanti to lock them down considerably without breaking their core functionality. I may poke around some more and then use this as a template for the future.

If you're running it in a Docker image you'll need to run with --net=host due to WebRTC allocating lots of ports in the UDP ephemeral range! If you're not and it's just a firewalling issue you can just allow incoming traffic on ports 32768-60999, that'll do it
