We've characterized the microbiome of the sucking louse, Linognathus stenopsis (Phthiraptera, Anoplura, Linognathiidae). Understanding these microbial communities is key to know louse biology and vector potential.

Also, thanks for sending me down the rabbit hole. Now I’m looking into why anoplura only occur on 20% of placentalian mammals. Is it the hair? Skin secretions? Blood? Yeah, I’d follow the guy if this was his thing.

What if AI is short for "Arthropoda - Insecta" and he's actually trying to get more love for anoplura among the BlueSky nature photography cloud, because sucking lice need advocacy too, and...just spitballing here, work with me

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that the human louse (Pediculus humanus, Phthiraptera: Anoplura) is a blood-sucking, wingless, human-specific ectoparasite that is obligate (cannot live without the host) and permanent (complete their life cycle on a host).
