I've isolated the symptoms somewhat. There are three drives: a 1TB Crucial NVME that was an old boot drive, a 4TB Seagate HDD that was an old data drive and a 4TB Samsung NVME that was my boot drive two weeks ago.

The Samsung will fail if I run an full AV scan while it's the bootdrive.

So all of my files reappeared, sort of. I think I somehow lost access to my bootdrive and fell back to another NVME I had forgotten I had plugged in. Which explains why everything disappeared all of a sudden.

Starts panicing as vootdrive isn't detected anymorw and starts troubleshooting for nearly a day.

You know what, screw you ADATA (my storage SSD broke today, but my new Samsung SSD is arriving today)

This one goes for replacing my current ADATA bootdrive which I would convert into my new storage disk, with the new one being my new bootdrive (with a fresh Win11 install)

First upgrade to my computer storage in over 10 years. Been living off the same 240gb bootdrive and two 2tb HDD since 2015. Replacing it all with a 2tb SSD with 2tb HDD for archival backup. #linux

I'm still kind of a Linux baby myself, but if you decide to install linux using the flashdrive/bootdrive route, make sure it's a quality flashdrive and not some discount or cheap one. TLDR I tried installing linux with a Microcenter branded cheaper drive and kept running into installation issues-

hmm. lies mal die SMART-Werte von der SSD aus. Normalerweise sollte ein fehlerhaftes Programm maximal sich selbst mitreißen, nicht das ganze darunterliegende OS und dann noch das Bootdrive abhängen.

Hmm, ging iets mis met het installeren van een kopie van mijn bootdrive nadat mijn oude bootdrive het begeven had. Nu de andere hd’s met 15 tb aan beeldmateriaal ook niet meer bereikbaar. Hopen en bidden dat recovery software nog iets kan…😱

Pc decided to do its quarterly fuck you window corrupted we don't recognise bootdrive but won't format or let you reinstall windows. Will need to get a new pc expect comms to be open once i get it.

My pc issues this last week:
Installed a new mb, cpu, and aio into a new case. bitlocker tanked my boot drive and secondary drive as well. had to reformat the second one so i could have some space on my new build, and also had to install win11 on a new bootdrive, unactivated lol.

For all my fellow computer dweebs would you say it's time to upgrade my GPU?
Earlier this year I went from 16GB of RAM to 32GB, upgraded to 1TB SSD Bootdrive. Otherwise I have an i7-6700K @ 4.00GHz and I'm rocking a RTX 2070.
I'm thinking of going to a RTX 4070 at tax return season. Any thoughts?

Well....with 2TB, you could probably run about 100 different distros!😂 I'm stuck with a 512gb SSD Bootdrive, and a 100gb external SSD which I use for backups and photos. I haven't been a good enough boy to get a 1-2TB for Christmas! Good luck and happy playtime!
