Hadrosaur. Probably Brachylophosaurus. But the problem is that on the other side of the skin (which I saw in the field), I saw the mating pathologic neural spines.....

The major problem with aerostatic faces is that there requires more exceptional analysis to determine if it's true or not. Do Maiasaura and Brachylophosaurus and Saurolophus have primary indicators for extensive, glabular, labile tissues across their crests?

This would likely require microscopes.

New Study Confirms Partial Hemoglobin Preservation in Dinosaur Remains | Sci.News
Using a technique called Resonance Raman spectroscopy, paleontologists have detected hemoglobin remnants in bone extracts from two dinosaur species, Brachylophosaurus canadensis and Tyrannosaurus rex, and confirmed that the molecule is original to these dinosaurs. Still soft tissues retaining some of their original characteristics have been recovered from numerous Mesozoic vertebrate remains. The chemical make-up of the soft tissues from two species of non-avian dinosaurs, in particular, Brachylophosaurus canadensis and Tyrannosaurus rex, has been characterized in multiple studies over the course of the last two decades. All data support the hypothesis that these tissues are endogenous to the once-living dinosaurs.

Not only that, but we even have preserved plant material from his last meal.

We have also found worms in his stomach!

Leonardo had parasites! How cool is it that SO MUCH was left behind with him?

And in 2004 he was even listed in Guinness Book of World Records as the Best Preserved Dinosaur.

Do you like spooky time? Do you like dinosaurs?

Well what if I said we have a dino that’s been described as a mummified fossil?

Leonardo, a Brachylophosaurus, was found so well preserved that fossilized skin still covered its body.

Over 90% of him is covered in skin impressions!

Brachylophosaurus

I thought they were Saurolophus at first glance.

Happy #FossilFriday! #Sturgeons evolved in the #Cretaceous. This remarkably preserved Priscosturion(#MOR1184) is a fossil sturgeon discovered in the body cavity of a Brachylophosaurus. See #Priscosturion, #Brachylophosaurus, and more in the #CretaceousCrossroads exhibit at MOR.

Aerostatic expansive external pneumatic tissues in hadrosaurs (and some other #dinosaurs) are not a novel theory of today's paleoartists. It goes back almost 50 years to the late 70s-early 80s. However, it was exclusive to hadrosaurine/saurolophine #hadrosaurs.

This is so true. Have a brachylophosaurus tail mummy and mostly-real-material allosaurus mount.

Age and burial environment don't hinder soft tissue preservation in dinosaurs, study suggests.

Analysis of four T rex specimens, one Brachylophosaurus canadensis and one ceratopsian all contained vessel remains although varying widely in quality.

Good morning Bluesky today I am thinking about Brachylophosaurus, specifically the "Leonardo" fossil, an exquisitely preserved mummy of the dinosaur.

Leonardo's mummy preserves tendons, internal organs, musculature, and skin, giving us a great amount of information on how Hadrosaurus moved and ate.

#FossilAdventCalendar day #23: Brachylophosaurus lower jaw (MOR 1071-7-15-98-226).

My, that's a lot of teeth you have! Hadrosaurs, or duck-billed dinosaurs, had rows full of teeth that created a grinding surface for shredding tough plants 🪴.

This specimen is housed at Museum of the Rockies.
