Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is Hector Olivera. He played in ATL ‘15-‘16. Defecting from Cuba, he signed with LAD & was traded in a 3 team deal to ATL, who got the worse of the trade. Dang dodgers. He was arrested for domestic violence & suspended. He only played 30 games for ATL.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Allan Winans who played for ATL from ‘23-‘24. He also played for the NYY and is currently on the Saitama Seibu Lions of the Nippon Professional Baseball League. Before the majors he was a pitching instructor and substitute teacher.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Joey Wentz. On July 11, 2025, Wentz was claimed off waivers by ATL. He made his Braves debut the next day, pitching three scoreless innings & recording six strikeouts, establishing the franchise record for strikeouts in a debut by a reliever.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Dion James. He played for ATL from ‘87-‘89. During a game vs the Mets he hit a flyball to center field . As centerfielder Kevin McReynolds positioned himself to catch the ball, it hit off of and killed a dove in mid-air. What’s your James story?

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of James Parr. This thread will have recognized players and some not as recognizable. But they are still Braves! He played from ‘08-‘09 with ATL. In ‘16, Parr founded Pro4mer, a business to develop young athletes on and off the baseball field.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of All Star, Golden Glove & World Series Champion Adam Duvall. He played for ATL from ‘18-‘20, ‘21-‘22 & ‘24. One of my favorite memories was Game 5 2021 World Series, he hit a two-out, first-inning grand slam on the first pitch of Framber Valdez.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Mark Eichhorn. He is more known for his years with the Blue Jays as a 2 time World Series Champion. He played the 1989 season for ATL with a 4.35 ERA in 68
1⁄3 innings. The verse underneath his signature is my favorite part of this card!

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Mark Lemke aka “The Lemmer”. He played for ATL from ‘88-‘97. He played in 62 postseason games and appeared in four World Series (1991, 1992, 1995, 1996), ultimately beating Cleveland in the 1995 World Series. What’s your Lemmer stories

Today’s #BravesCardoftheday is of Terrell Wade. He earned a World Series ring by pitching in three games in 1995. He was also a former player of my local team the Idaho Falls Braves, now the @ifchukars. He played with ATL from ‘95-‘97.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Paul Runge. He played his entire career with the Braves as a utility infielder from ‘81-‘88. Of special note to me, in ‘93 he managed my local team, the Idaho Falls Braves, who are now know as the Idaho Falls Chukars. Please share your stories about him!

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Charlie Puleo. He played for ATL from ‘86-‘89. Puleo has the rare distinction of being the only pitcher other than Don Sutton to allow a HR to Nolan Ryan. He also played for the Mets and Reds.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Zane Smith. He played for ATL from ‘84-‘89. In 1987 he led the Braves with 15 wins, nearly twice as many as any other Braves pitcher on a team with only 69 wins. Thats 21.7% of all wins that season! 😬

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Paul Zuvella. He played with ATL from ‘82-‘85. Did you know game footage of Zuvella appears in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. In the film, the character Mr. Rooney is watching a game between the Braves and the Chicago Cubs on a television in a tavern

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Gene Garber who played in the MLB from ‘69-‘88. He was with ATL ‘78-‘87. With 141 games saved for the Braves, Garber ranks third on the team's all-time saves list behind only Craig Kimbrel (186) and John Smoltz (154).

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of All Star & 3 time World Series Champ (unfortunately all those accolades were with the Yankees) Mike Stanton. He played from ‘89-‘95 with Atlanta. He was traded in the middle of ‘95 to the Red Sox but Atlanta gave him a ring anyways.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Jim Acker. He was drafted by ATL in 1980 MLB draft. He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays from the Atlanta Braves in the 1982 Rule 5 Draft but eventually was traded back and played for ATL ‘86-‘89. What’s your Jim Acker story?

The #BravesCardoftheDay is of two time all star Bruce Benedict. He played for the Braves from ‘78 to ‘89. Did you know that he was also a college basketball referee? I saw him call several games when I was a student at Auburn (Roll Tide anyways!)

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Brad Komminsk. He played for Atl from 1983-86. He was the 4th pick by Atl in the ‘79 amateur draft. In ‘15, The Sporting News characterized Atl’s selection of Komminsk over Andy Van Slyke as 1 of the 5 worst draft decisions in franchise history!

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Oddibe McDowell. Who doesn’t love a bubble gum card & a bonus personalized card? He played from 1985 to 1994 for the Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, & Atlanta Braves. He won the golden spike award in ‘84 best amateur baseball player in the USA.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of 1990 All Star Greg Olson. He played from 1990-93 for Atlanta. A broken leg from a collision with Ken Caminiti in 1992 definitely hurt his career path & a guy named Javier Lopez was ready and waiting to be the next guy in ‘94. I love the ATV card!

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is of Ron Gant. The former silver slugger and 2 time All Star played from 1987 to 2003, 7 of those seasons with Atlanta. He joined the 30–30 club—recording at least 30 stolen bases & 30 home runs in the same season—in 1990 & 1991, while with the Braves

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is a TTM of Raisel Iglesias, one of the few current Braves that signs. He signed with the Reds as an international free agent in 2014 after defecting from Cuba. He’s played 11 years in the majors & I’ve had the chance to see him throw live a few times

2026 Braves Card of Day 1 comes from Billy Sample. I sent Billy several cards that he signed for me and he responded to my letter as well. Billy played for the Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, and Atlanta Braves in parts of nine seasons spanning 1978–1986. #BravesCardoftheDay
