🅰️ JONATHAN DAVID!

For the second time this afternoon, one of the #CanMNT's two Davids has a slightly-baffling assist off a set-piece...

Owen Goodman is looking to crack the #CanMNT's 2026 World Cup squad, and to do that, he's gone on loan to League 1 side Barnsley after a tough loan with Huddersfield

Can he return to the level he showed at Wimbledon in League 2 last season? Early signs are positive

Uzbekistan, Iceland, Tunisia... and maybe Turkey?

The #CanMNT's pre-World Cup schedule is slowly coming into focus, and it's solid, if not unspectacular

For OS, I dive into the pros and cons of that schedule, as they now get set for their sprint towards June 12th

I liked the #CanMNT's wide overloads in this game. Their wingers did a good job of driving the ball forward, and they got good support from their full backs

Considering the weapons they have out wide and at full back when everyone's healthy... I want to see more of simple, direct play like this

While ‘Camp Poutine’ is about short term gains, its true effect might not be felt until later

Look at the #CanMNT’s 2021 January Camp, which featured the likes of Tajon Buchanan, Alistair Johnston and more

New: Last year, @hfxwanderersfc.bsky.social striker Tiago Coimbra shared a stage with CanMNT's Jesse Marsch in Halifax. Now, they're sharing a pitch in California, part of the gaffer's long-term approach to identifying Canadian talent.

My latest for @us.theguardian.com.

Jesse Marsch on Marcelo Flores's late exclusion from the #CanMNT's 'Camp Poutine': "It wouldn't make sense at this time."

He'll stay with Tigres, now

I analyze what's next for Flores and the #CanMNT, and dive into Jesse Marsch's comments, for OneSoccer👇

As I wrote, with Tigres playing big games this week, it was always a possibility that Marcelo Flores wasn't going to get released for the #CanMNT's January Camp

Anyways, this isn't a bad thing for Canada - as Tigres's coach said, Flores's focus seems to be on Canada, so more club mins is not bad
It's been a whirlwind start to 2026 for Marcelo Flores - named to the #CanMNT's Camp Poutine squad. A brace for Tigres. And now unlikely to play in said camp due to that brace for Tigres (h/t Matthew Scianitti)

Not surprising, though, as I dove into for OneSoccer

After scoring a brace for Tigres vs. Atlético San Luis, Marcelo Flores is not expected to join the #CanMNT's January camp in California, according to @tsnscianitti.bsky.social.

Tigres manager Guido Pizarro said: “I hope we can help him so he’s on the Canadian team for the WC."

As it stands, the #CanMNT's top 4 CBs are all either injured or just coming back from injury

In the wake of Alfie Jones's surgery, I dove into Canada's centre back situation, and what it means for a team that has been defending well despite these injury woes

Both of the #CanMNT's primary 2026 World Cup kits have been leaked.

Two identical patterns and a secondary kit that somewhat looks like Toronto FC's 2023 secondary.

There will also be a third black kit that has yet to leak on @Footy_Headlines.

CANMNT’s Group B schedule is out! Their first opponent in Play-off A (Italy, Northern Ireland, Wales, Bosnia and Herzegovina) will be decided come March. 👀🇨🇦

Which match are you looking towards most? ⤵️
December 6, 2025 at 5:03 PM
The #CanMNT's Group B is #8 out of 12 groups in average FIFA Ranking, and #12 out of 12 by average Elo Rating. IF you average the UEFA Playoff A teams' rankings, that is

If Italy qualifies, Group B becomes #2 out of 12 by FIFA Rankings, and #8 out of 12 by Elo Ratings. Big swing
