Here's something I haven't put online before! #Blakes7 Redemption, in TC6 on 8-10th September 1978. Vere Lorrimer also shot the Liberator sequences for Killer in this session. The other sets visible are the Spaceworld Command Centre, the Detention Cell, and Roy Evans' Tiny Lift. #CGSets

Today it's 43 years since #DoctorWho Castrovalva Part One was broadcast. Here's something I haven't put online before. The biggest TARDIS set the series did. Designer Janet Budden used every bit of stock scenery, and then made some more... 'Now, ordinary spaces....' #CGSets

#DoctorWho The Tenth Planet 4, in Riverside 1, 8th October 1966. A changeable day... #CGSets Keep Warm.

The tracking room shows a number of computer consoles around a large screen, with stairs at the back to a door. A raised dais has the General desk on it. A CG reacreation of the Radiation room and Cyber Ship from The Tenth Planet. The radiation room has a large cylinder on a central dais surrounded by consoles, and a door leading to a corridor. A CG reacreation of the small Cyber ship from The Tenth Planet. It has five high-tech columns and roof beams in a quarter-circle formation, between which gates with horizontal bars form small prison cells. Between two of the columns is a door to an external corridor.

#DoctorWho The Leisure Hive, in TC3, 18th April 1980. Look at Tom Yardley-Jones' amazing composite set! The main hall, corridors, board room, lab, Brock's cabin, and the planet exterior, all linked in lovely white corrugated plastic. A new start! #CGSets

Here’s one of the studio sessions for #DoctorWho The Deadly Assassin, recreated in CG! Panopticon, cloister, museum, and the Chancellery. The secondary TARDIS control room was constructed right in the middle, and struck overnight… #CGsets

The Tomb set doubled as the foyer of the Tower too, with the chessboard motif painted on the floor covered by Rassilon's tomb. 'Try it Doctor, it's as easy as pi!' Also, a nice glass shot added in a painted upper level. #DoctorWho #CGSets 8/9

The Dalek area was a confusing mish-mash of angular-painted sets, with lots of mirrored surfaces, and some swinger walls which moved to allow apparently different areas to be shot - and facilitated camera access. #DoctorWho #CGSets 6/9

The Gallifrey set was a composite of the Council chamber, game room, and some very 1980s corridors with a built-in fountain. #DoctorWho #CGSets 5/9

The corridors were lit in different colours to represent various areas of the Tower, including the sections where both the second and third Doctors meet phantoms - and, of course, the musical staircase the Master hops down as he follows the first Doctor. #DoctorWho #CGSets 3/9
