A half-length portrait of a white-skinned, brown-haired woman painted within a circle. The woman wears a white cap and collar; a black dress with red sleeves and white lace trim; and a short cape that is black on the outside, white on the inside. Her hands are clasped in front of her. The background is an olive-y green. Around the top portion of the circle around her, in capital gold letters, is written "Hinc vide qualis honos vultus elorente ivvente." At about mid-left is written "Aetat 31," and at the right, near the subject's left elbow, is the year 1550.

A half-length 16th-century portrait of a white-skinned woman in a dark colored gown with red velvet sleeves trimmed in white lace, and a white cap on her head. Her hands are in front of her; the left hand holds a pair of gloves - the text on the museum's object page says "presumably leather, decorated with black and golden embroidery" - and the right plays with the end of a chain that encircles her waist. Tucked between her right arm and her body is a small, mostly white lapdog with long ears and a belled collar. In the top right corner in white caps is the text "CATHARINA DE / HEMESSEN PINGEBAT / 1551."

A 3/4-length portrait of a small child—probably but not necessarily a girl—in a white embroidered dress lined with lace and a cap. The child’s left elbow is bent; their left hand reaches across her chest to hold the jewel-encrusted cross that dangles from a thick chain around their neck. Their right arm is stretched out; a great tit perches on their right hand, tethered to the chil with a red string that they hold in that hand. The painting is dated and inscribed in gold at top center with he characters 'Ao·DNI·1559 AETATIS·SVAE 3·'
