The #ExecutiveFunctionTheft of having to opt out.
Feeling annoyed at the cognitive cost of having to dismiss all the offers of "AI" assitance every time I use Acrobat to provide feedback on documents my students wrote. (NO I do NOT want an "AI" summary of this. In what world???)

Decided to check settings:

Long #covid brain fog crashed my executive function; the creep of unavoidable AI "features" is making my online work obligations increasingly unbearable. #ExecutiveFunctionTheft indeed!

They are paying for plane ticket BUT ONLY IN STANDARD COACH. (yes the instructions I got were very shouty)

Unclear how they will handle the parking fees for my car at my local airport, I have to ask. #ExecutiveFunctionTheft

Keep in mind, I'm not getting an honorarium for this. I'm only getting a fixed amount reimbursed even and no, that won't cover all of my expenses for this trip.

And yes, I know this is how federal grants work. I've written them. (this is NSF funded) #ExecutiveFunctionTheft

I had to briefly set up a secondary dropbox account for a project. Cancelling it required nearly 10 pages of screens and 4 confirmations that I wanted to cancel -- including having to scroll to find barely labeled buttons.

CVS so much exemplifies #ExecutiveFunctionTheft

They "rescheduled" a vaccine appt I had set for this morning but I had a script to pick up so went over and asked about it. I now have the vaccine in arm and about 50 automated text messages. It's confusing and annoying.

Having EFT land on Tumblr means this month I've seen almost as many readers as I did on the post last year.

Hope everyone is enjoying and adopting.

And now in #ExecutiveFunctionTheft , I'm on hold for at least 15 minutes with the transit benefit company after their phone tree routed me around 7 times as I try to get to use my own actual money. they're showing 2 pending transit charges. I never managed to complete a monthly ventra pass purchase

To participate in a federal challenge, I had to sign up on Freelancer.com -- they're using that as authentication for some reason.

Today I had to go in and manually unsubscribe from 29 different push contact options, 0 of which I'd wanted to opt into.

I've been asked to attend a 1 day event in DC. So far I've had to spend over 30 minutes creating an account to send a form so they can set me up for reimbursement (because of COURSE it's only reimbursement) #ExecutiveFunctionTheft

We recently got Exciting News that we could download an app to submit our reimbursements even faster!! I've reached the point I ask for bare minimum that don't require 100 additional receipts -- it's not like my faculty funds cover all of it anyway

Despite having gotten a vaccine at Walgreens in October, today I can't get one because I have to go to CVS as preferred pharmacy. Meanwhile, Walgreens refused to tell me this until after I got here and waited for twenty minutes.

These were all within 2 hours related to the shots I got this morning.

And I'm doing this on *easy mode* (No kids, elder care, chronic illness to navigate)

#ExecutiveFunctionTheft is a perfect way to put so, so many things. Time theft doesn’t capture it as well because of the way tasks nag at your ability to concentrate both (way) before and after the fact.

He's happy JUST to help. Not to actually plan, initiate, complete etc ...
