I responded that photos are memories. "When I take a pic, it grounds that memory in the physical. Chat GPT generates delusions of places."

That seemed to get through.

I kept pushing.

"Okay, now I like this one, but I would have adjusted the ISO a bit brighter. Can you do the same?"

He punched in the request, and Chat GPT generated four brighter images that were completely different from the original.

"You can't adjust the exact same image?"

"...not really."

Or, you frequently hear "well, analytical AI is good, but generative AI is bad", but there isn't really a hard difference between the two. They often share identical underlying architecture. Like, transformers power both BERT and GPT. Vision Transformers handle tumour detection and image generation.
