Castagne v0.57 release! It's the LAST GODOT 3 VERSION. I will be focusing on the Godot 4 one, which has a lot of indepth rewrites.

v0.57 adds menus, input rebinding, battle flow, and AI opponents. You can make complete builds to bring to events!

I enjoy code first state machines. The Godot and Unity UI ones end up being too fiddly.

#Defold does not have a baked in FSM.

So I wrote one to handle transitions off anim/physics callbacks.

I've split animations to allow functionality like activating a collider mid swing.

Btw, i've checked in the Godot source code if it was possible to go beyond the max of 2.0 for "Scaling 3D Scale" property. Unfortunately, as for now, it's not possible (rendering_viewport.cpp) :

My idea was to store Items as #godot resources, which would then have a reference to their 3D world object, this would contain the stuff like "pickup" or "interact" but kept getting recursion issues because "pickup" would point at the Item resource
So instead "pickup" contains the UID which.. works?

Working on developing a metroidvania in Godot. So far, I have the character movement working, a nice snappy jump + double jump, and working on terrain next. Thanks for the tilesets @moss-tower.bsky.social, they look great!

Hoy he trabajado en las físicas del busto y en la pantalla de opciones. Salvo la resolución (que requiere reinciar), todas las opciones gráficas se aplican de forma dinámica. La pantalla es semitransparente aposta para ver al instante los cambios in-game. #Godot #GodotEngine
