I wrote a post on @whtwnd.com about sustaining events.

This also explains why I am pushing @c-base.org events like @bhnt.c-base.org away from meetup towards @smokesignal.events and encourage new events like @swapfest.berlin or HashBerg to use it in the first place.

Context I observed suboptimal and unsustainable patterns in several groups that I organize events with. For example Berlin Hack\&Tell started out with meetup.com/berlin-hack-and-tell. In the beginni...

It's also a recursive parser, which means it'll run out of call stack on deeply nested objects, e.g. github.com/hashberg-io/...
Infinite recursion loop · Issue #14 · hashberg-io/dag-cbor
Hi all! First off, thank you for maintaining dag-cbor. It's great! I came across an encoded DAG-CBOR object that makes dag-cbor recurse infinitely, or at least deeper than Python's default max recu...

The only existing library at the time was github.com/hashberg-io/...

It's good, but it's written in pure-python, which makes it slow enough to cause real perf bottlenecks (mainly in a feed generator context, it would probably be ~fine for a PDS, and I used it in picopds)

I ended up fighting with unsupported IPLD libs for Python and just created this lib (also it gives about x28 performance boost with the previous implementation by hashberg-io. Thanks to Rust). That's how I speed up atproto.blue! GitHub: github.com/MarshalX/pyt...
