Does Edward Hopper’s “Haskell's House” (1924) remind anyone else of Alfred Hitchcock’s psychological horror classic Psycho?

Interestingly, William Castle was a Hitchcock fan and ironically tried to imitate Hitchcock's work in his later films such as Homicidal, which multiple critics compared to Psycho.

Watched yet another WWII propaganda short film. This one in French. It's called Bon Voyage. It's actually film with a plot, not like a newsreel. It was pretty similar to Hitchcock's normal suspense movies.

… is good but naive as a stage star who draws his attention.

The film relies effectively on underlying tension; if it’s bloody gore you want, even by 1944 standards, stay away.

It’s a fine adaptation of a book that inspired Hitchcock’s silent THE LODGER: A STORY OF THE LONDON FOG in 1927.

In Saul Bass' title sequence for Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960), the film’s title and credits are fractured by the linear bars that graphically intersect them, prompting the viewer to interpret the splitting of the letterforms as metaphoric of psychosis itself.

Hitchcock's "Notorious" (1946)
Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman
Notorious is one of Hitchcock’s best movies.
It’s still fresh today and the ending will get you every time.
A masterpiece.

I’m not sure I agree. Truffaut deified Hitchcock’s weird control-freakery, and Auteurism can also mean directors simply ignoring the skills and wisdom of their collaborators. The crews I worked with in the 90s thought it was daft.
