Really? I would say it is a very common belief in econ that zero uncertainty is best. I agree with the other replies you got though that there are probably situations where this doesn't hold. My colleague likes to bring up that many kids of Huntington's parents don't want to know their status.

Lauren tells us what advice she would tell her younger self as she was experiencing her caregiving journey, taking care of her dad with Huntington's disease. Can you relate to having a "Medical mode" or feeling guilt?

Almost every single Hollywood war film in the last 3 decades has Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations" as a underlying trope.

Before that things weren't much better, anticommunism was the underlying plot of all Hollywood films.

oh my god this is AMAZING news. Huntington's Disease is really, really nasty.
GOOD NEWS! For the first time ever, Huntington's disease has been successfully treated. A groundbreaking new miRNA treatment, AMT-130, slowed the progression of the disease by 75%. These results are likely to support the first approval of a genetic treatment for the rare neurodegenerative condition.

I never thought we'd treat Huntington's. Ever. But because we as a species insist on solving mysteries, we keep progressing. We keep moving forward and improving lives. Now more than ever we have to resist attempts to take us back to a time where "type 1 diabetic adults" didn't exist.

This is wonderful news for future Huntington's Disease sufferers. It's very early, with a small test group, and needs to be peer reviewed & duplicated. Plus, projections are that the treatment would cost $2 million or more, making it out of reach for most. But hopeful.
