The F-35 is the Thunderchief of our time...
It wouldn't come past me that the JAS39E/F can detect it, given how its radar & networking features work.
JA37 had a similar capability, and technology has progressed a lot since then.

So i guess my point is the f-35 is a proven airframe with mature capabilites.
the Jas39e is still proving and developing them.
Buying a mixed fleet and replacing the F-35 with a 6th gen alternative in 30 years maybe the best bet.

Det er uforsvarlig å kjøpe fra USA, hva som skjer med de 46 F35-flyene som allerede er levert er i det blå. Og det skal komme 6 til frem til sommeren.
Flyene er ikke ferdigutviklet (nå får de en begrenset TR3) og ingen vet når de blir "Block 4".
Synd vi ikke kjøpte JAS39E :(

Det er uforsvarlig å kjøpe fra USA, hva som skjer med de 46 F35-flyene som allerede er levert er i det blå. Og det skal komme 6 til frem til sommeren.

Sweden doesn't have a large air force and only has a handful of the modern variant. I think the JAS39e would be a superb addition to the Air Forces of NATO but no one is buying it! Brazil has a contract to purchase them and the last I heard they have 9. That's more than Sweden has.
