As part of #KnifeCrimeAwarenessWeek, our Children and Young People's team attended an Awareness Workshop facilitated by the Ben Kinsella Trust and the VRP. Ben sadly lost his life to knife crime at the age of 16 in 2008. His family set up the charity to help reduce youth violence.

The average age we support to reduce knife crime in West Mercia is just 13.

Online spaces can normalise violence, and the #CrimeAndPolicingBill risks criminalising children who need support. We need prevention, not punishment.

Sunday was the 19th anniversary of Kiyan Prince's death, who lost his life to knife crime.
