On the original DVD, I always preferred to listen to the band-only audio mix ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A lot of the orchestral stuff doesn't mesh well. Not sure if its entirely a Kamen issue or song choice issue. Ktulu and a couple others are great. Battery, One, etc not so much. And yeah, notoriously bad autotune

I used to though the Ktulu one hit the spot, and then I'll listen to the Fuel one and it's like that Eric Andre bit where two bands played at the same time.

Metallica has a few good songs post-Cliff I’ll admit. They have a few that I happen to love. But they could never make anything that sounded even 1/10th as beautiful and intricate as something like Call of Ktulu or Orion
