THINGS IN NATURE MERELY GROW by Yiyun Li (Farrar, Straus and Giroux), with its shocking story of personal loss, is one of the bravest memoirs - make that books - I have ever read. I savored the way she eviscerates the cliches of grief. Her dedication to truth is beautiful.

#LibFaves25 Today my pick is all emotion. Like raging teenage hormones you will laugh and sob in the same breath while reading WRECK by Catherine Newman. The next stage of a family when drama strikes- a simple story beautifully written.

My Day 9 #LibFaves25 COSMIC LOVE AT THE MULTIVERSE HAIR SALON by Annie Mare made me believe happy endings might exist out there. A missent text from the past connects potential lovers Tressa and Meryl. But in Tressa's time, Meryl vanished a month ago. Can they change the past and create a future?

Penultimate #LibFaves25 is MY FRIENDS. Backman's smooth as silk writing always makes even the most sentimental moments feel unhackneyed and this one has just enough twists about each character's life that you'd be hard pressed to anticipate just about anything in it.

#Libfaves25 Day 9:

ONE DAY, EVERYONE WILL HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AGAINST THIS by Omar El Akkad

A book of and for this moment that applies to so much of the last two centuries that it is truly a must-read book - a label that I usually don't care for (every book its reader and all).

It was a rough year, and comfort reads such as Kim Jyun's YEONNAM-DONG'S SMILEY LAUNDROMAT kept me reading (and hoping) so it is my number 9 pick. #LibFaves25
