🔍In our online survey, we asked people for general comments about their experience of public toilets in London.

🔍In an online survey conducted by the London Loo Alliance, we found that 94% of 285 respondents viewed action being taken to improve public toilet provision in London as either very urgent or urgent.

❓What is the 'loo leash'?🚽

Where people don’t leave their homes as much as they might like because they are anxious that they won’t be able to find a toilet when we need to.

This can also mean people drink less which can lead to dehydration and associated health risks.

The same concern can mean we drink less than we should, which can lead to dehydration. Dehydration is associated with a higher risk of ill health in older people, from having an infection, a fool or being admitted to hospital. For those that can’t walk or wheel far or fast, the lack of toilets can be more acute.

Insufficient and poor-quality public toilet provision impacts all Londoners but disproportionately affects older and disabled people, those with health conditions, pregnant women, itinerant workers, such as delivery and taxi drivers, as well as families with young children. Poor provision means many Londoners are not free to access London’s public spaces because of fears about the lack of decent toilets. The Alliance calls on regional government, local government, businesses, transport operators and others to engage, communicate and play their part.
