The theme for this week has been dexterity 👍😁👍 and Venusian Bowling by Jason Brannen has been my favorite so far. It’s more akin to darts than anything. A lobbing sort of darts.

After a 10 hour shift I took to this one more than I thought I would 😊 and rolled a 20

Rotationary by Dave Chalker is a nice light puzzle for a lazy afternoon. The goal, to rotate the pieces to point in the same direction. Each piece affects the the one it points to according to its pip value.

Something comfortingly familiar about this one😊

Atom Smasher by David Artman is a dexterity game similar to marbles. The goal is to flick the opaque small, in this case green cuz Hulk smash!Hulk destroy!, into a tight group of pyramids to separate them. Freed mids are then collected for scoring. Fun stuff 👍😁👍

On our next stop we headed north to Fort Collins best known for the many craft breweries that populate the area.

In this 3 player game we decided to ditch the “pass up” mechanic which has players draw cards to beat the other player in order to get ahead

This week we’ll take a tour of my favorite place, Colorado, via Niclas Hermansson’s luck-driven bicycle racing game Tour de Pyramide 👍😁👍

We’ll start our journey in Denver with my first solo trek. I finished 2.5 laps, and my legs didn’t even hurt 😉

Lightweight and perfectly portable Joseph Kisenwether’s Synapse-Ice is another game easy to remember. Like many pyramid games this is an adaptation of another game and uses a unique mechanic of directional placement that I’m calling pip to point. Check it out!👇😁👍

I was only able to play one pyramid game this week and it was Andy Looney’s Looney Ludo, #theLooneyGameoftheMonth!

Quick and snappy but don’t spoil the fun with too much thinking about your next move. I find some of Andy’s games are best played on rapid fire 👍🔥👍

If you’re in the mood for a challenge Nicholas Vaccaro’s Lockpick is a solitaire game for you.
The goal is to crack the “code”by making sets and runs before all card stacks are depleted. Sounds easy, right?
I almost got his one but purple wouldn’t budge.

If you’re into Rubik’s Cube then you just might enjoy this pyramid puzzle by Paul Blake. Ice3 plays like a flattened stackable Rubik’s Cube. Gradually move all pyramids of a size or color until one corner is filled with a single color. Harder than it sounds 😊

Spent the afternoon trying to get the wheels moving on Magic Mids, a pyramid/piecepack game of chance. It seems to get locked up at the end as there is nothing to do about occupied squares.

Any ideas are welcome 😊 or if I’m missing something 😅 rules below 👍😁

Another rerelease from the Pyramid Arcade Carnival Games series I have been working on. It was originally called Ice Cones but that name had been taken so I have renamed it Pyramid Pops. I also tweaked the scoring a bit to incentivize building up. Just fun😊

Attack of the Mids

2 Player
Difficulty level = You’re a Monster

This game almost got the better of us. Fortunately Clay we had to save us from some nasty events and we were able to sample all the gelatinous invaders before they could overrun the town.

Next up is Fire-Ice-Slime by Steve Beard. This is another RPS style game but unlike NBaL which adds a layer of complexity, FIS stays true to the RPS format.
Sling hidden pyramids at your opponent and yell the type of attack: fire! ice! or slime! Role playing recommended 👍😁

One of 22 games in Pyramid Arcade while also available as a standalone small box game, Martian Chess is a mind-bending chess style game! It's fast & easy-to-learn with complex strategy that will have you wanting a rematch! Have you played Martian Chess yet? #LooneyGameOfTheMonth

Wow! 300+ followers 👍😁

Thanks everyone for tagging along in this little journey of mine. We’ve knocked out about 65 games so far but have tons more to go 😊

Today’s game is Aquarius Rising by Matthew Rogers and it’s as pretty as it it fun. Cozy tower building 😊

David Libby’s A Pair of Mice fits right in with our accidental theme. A sweet lil press your luck style game with set collecting elements. It even has a solo mode 👍 It can be a bit unforgiving but I really enjoy the tension the set collecting creates 😁

Here I’ve set up a game of Martian Mud Wrestling by Elliot C. Evans.

I figured I would do a few posts on this as it encapsulates some noteworthy aspects of pyramid games. It’s a pretty simple 3 rule game with some pleasant tactical depth and nice surprises 👍😁

After some much needed time off I decided to hook into the #LooneyGameoftheMonth, Petal Battle by the emperor himself Andy Looney.

This shot is from a two handed game I won… and lost. But this is how I learn games. Play once, play again, then invite some friends 😊

Leaning Towers by Geoffrey Globus is a dexterity game similar to building a house of cards. In this game players stack pyramids only allowing two corners of each piece to touch the table.

I added a little spice by confining the build area to a 3x3 square 👍😁👍

Fast paced and highly strategic Kat Costa’s Override is a blast!

Connect five before your opponent does. Simple stuff, right?

This game ended before it began but our second game was epic! Pieces hit the table in a blur like a grandmasters chess game. Great fun!

Vaporized!

3 in a row isn’t the only way to win at Jinxx. You can also eliminate players by landing on their pieces and removing them from the game. Once a player only has 2 pieces left it is impossible for them to get 3 in a row and they become vapor 🌫️ 😁

I’ve discovered from this little journey that I am terrible at connection games 😅

This is Pentamid Twist, also by Jeff Zeitlin, and as you may or may not be able to tell this game just earned me another connection loss.

Fun game with some thoughtful tactics 👍😁👍

Finally had a chance to play the #LooneyGameOfTheMonth, Nomids by Andy Looney. This is a quick shedding game that is best played with 4 or more players in, my humble opinion.

You probably won’t need all those snacks though 😅
