In a #MiyawakiForest native trees are planted to fill 3 levels—canopy/subtrees/shrubs. As many as 40 different species are planted. Soil preparation is critical. After planting compost tea & mulch are generously applied. With this approach, strict attention is needed for only the first 2-3 years
