#Moderation
If Bluesky truly wants to be different, it can’t just say it supports marginalized users. It has to prove it through consistent, transparent moderation that does not punish Black trans people for being visible, vocal, or unapologetically present.

BlueSky's AI-moderation also thinks the Queer people in Swimsuits is porn... as well as other revealing outfits.
This platform is very Queerphobic.
I never see those standards applied to Straight people on here.
Auto-mod clearly was designed to reinforce cis-hetero normalcy and shun us Queers.

Managing content needs moderation; automated systems and AI are useless at it.

It needs people. Which means paying wages; that greedy social media companies hate paying.

I know the purpose of all this messed up moderation is so sow division and sadly it works. I used to be able to be a lot freer and able to devote more time to every post, now it's a rush of trying to get something done.

Don't forget that this is on them, not us.

Moderation becomes selective. Silence becomes policy.

If Bluesky wants to be meaningfully different, it must prove it through transparent, equitable moderation. A platform that feels safe only when Black trans people are silenced or erased is not safe at all it’s just another space protecting comfort over justice.

I watched the Pirate Software video on it. There was a lot going on. The lack of moderation and not employing enough QA, among other things.

Last month, we added 184 new project profiles together, 31 of which were new launches (app.civictech.guide/launchpad). And we created 3 new subcategories: Civic slop, Deep Canvassing, and Content moderation (app.civictech.guide/categories).

Lrp -- This
I will label anything I make that features sex/sex acts and I label nudity as well...but I usually get hit with that double label from moderation. I stopped appealing it at this point. Tbh the labeling isn't the issue, it's inconsistent moderation

Putting people on “lists” is an evolving trend on Social Media. On Bluesky, users create and subscribe to custom moderation (mute/block) lists.
To see the list, users must choose to subscribe to these moderation lists in their settings.
No worries.

Ceci étant, si on retire de l’équation l’algorithme et la modération, les plateformes sont l’équivalent d’un local clos dans lequel on enferme des personnes de tous âges et au sein desquels ne s’appliquent aucune règle. On sait comment cela se termine.

Let’s be frank:
The idea that the Trumpists would henceforth pursue a strategy of moderation and de-escalation, that perhaps Donald Trump was sincerely affected by the violence in Minneapolis and therefore seeking a more conciliatory approach, was obviously stupid.

@thomaszimmer.bsky.social
Turning Points and Authoritarian Escalations
Is America’s descent into autocracy accelerating or is Trump struggling to break through the democratic defenses? In Minneapolis, MAGA's worldview is being refuted.

If Bluesky wants to be different, it must be transparent about moderation and resist donor pressure, especially when harm falls on those already marginalized.

Tumblr's content moderarion policy of banning porn and quietly alienating vocal transfeminists through blatantly discriminatory moderation decisions is working wonders to attract advertisers to their website
February 2, 2026 at 12:32 PM
hear that? it's the silence of Republican lawmakers who spent the last bunch of years pretending to be "First Amendment absolutists" when they got mad about specific content moderation decisions made by private platforms
The president of the United States is personally threatening a comedian for mocking him.

Moderation seems unlikely. How about some brute force control of who votes, and whose votes get counted?
