This why people don’t fuck with Montrealers. They do not feel pain.

It was always a holiday tradition for Montrealers to go to downtown and stop by and marvel at this! Sadly, this display at the Ogilvy building is no longer there. 😭 I recorded this about 10 years ago...

“Canada’s left-leaning political parties and politicians must recognize that the only people holding them back are themselves. There’s now officially no excuse — bold campaigns will win the day.”

Must read text by Taylor C. Noakes in @cultmtl.com

"After decades of top-down urban planning and exclusive, often corrupt city management, what @projetmontreal.org once offered Montrealers was nothing short of revolutionary, at least in the local context."

Montreal needs to be a city with purpose
A city without purpose is no place to live, and Montreal appears to be in an enshitification phase where an imagination boost is needed.

Giving away homemade BBQ sauce for the holidays is a tour of wear I have lived: sweet for the midwest, vinegar forward molasses heavy for NC, spicy ketchup heavy for FL, and mustard vinegar for SC. My Montrealers are appreciative, bemused, and tolerant of my passion for US regional BBQ.

Storrie's Russian is really good, and it's important because language is important in the show. (Also butts.)

Unrelatedly-but-relatedly, Williams speaks French like many anglo Ontarians I know (and Arnaud speaks English like many franco Montréalers I know).

A bunch of Montrealers dresses as Santa and elves, stole a bunch of food from a grocery store, and donated it to people in need.

Just in case you need a family party game to play this season.

Hahaha I hear that! Also, the expat Montrealers living in Ontario have a very different view.

Montrealers tend to think that no weather is too severe because we’re so tough, but freezing rain on hilly streets is a very bad combo

I KNOW! It's so good. Funnily enough, Montrealers are actually usually pretty good in the snow and ice, at least compared to us Torontonians.

I just introduced my parents (both Montrealers, now living in SF) to this classic (my grandmother lived on Sherbrooke, so they of course could identify the exact location)
if tumblr dies I need this video to make it's seasonal rotation here instead just in case, Happy holidays 🎄

The type of guy hating on bike lanes but love to park in them. Montrealers are learning. It takes time and many tickets.

it's funny, one of the main things Montrealers complain about is snow removal. it's not going great. And it wasn't even that much snow. Like, erm.. wtf?

The shell’s propellants were made in Quebec under their authorization."

I think it's mostly Montrealers and French (from France). Because the smog isn't toxic enough to our lungs.

I don't think I can walk around the city without smelling cigarette. It's pretty terrible.

Fake news! Montrealers are pissed off by bicycle paths being imposed in streets and neighborhoods without consultation. Residents and businesses are complaining. New mayor promises a reassessment of bicycle paths for social acceptance and mobility. #polmt

I also like the three pole design, but it seems like Montrealers don’t really use it

I saw more people not holding on or leaning against the door than holding onto the pole; I wonder if they do that because the train acceleration and deceleration is very smooth (especially compared to CTA)
