The Kinifi, separated from the lands below by great distance, were made aware of the Flood of Light in the first place as sineaters from below rose up to terrorize their lands. Originally, it was thought that sineaters were the souls of Kinifi who had fallen to the underworld below and found a way back to heaven. Eventually, this was incorporated into their belief system, where the gravely injured, aged, or dying Kinifi would be taken to the place known as the Silent Plateau, to receive the touch of Light and then wait out their final days to transform into a sineater and then be dispatched by the Silent Order; this final step was seen as required to release one's spirit from the final bonds of mortality and permit their ascension to the heavens.

Caquix was a premier Ronkan necromancer back when the Ronkan Empire still existed. Due to reasons, he was trapped in a semi-sleeping state in a med tank for 3000 years, when the tank finally degraded enough for him to awake. More in alt text.

He's the progenitor of Nightkin on the First, which makes him the distant ancestor of a number of my First characters - and currently they've come to see him. It's an awkward meeting.

Zao-Tistt was a sailor 1000 years ago on the First. After a shipwreck and an encounter with a Nightkin...nothing's been the same, since. He may have survived the Flood of Light...or at least, something has.

there's actually a separate script for the Hingashi (Doman? Generic Far Eastern?) language, and the WVR/LTW/CRP quest talks about why there's no written language in Tural. Iirc Solution 9 and Norvrandt also have their own scripts.

But that stills leaves out everywhere else on the Source

It took Sanguine a very long time to forgive himself for the events leading to that. He often blamed himself for how it happened, etc. Whole lotta dark thoughts and such. He's made his peace with it, but he's less of a romantic than he was.

The most cherished memory this body would ever hold, here at the end of all things. Soren kneels beside the Exarch in the cutscene at the very end of 5.3 after Elidibus is defeated.
