I'm really really looking forward to being back on the Ongiara next week.

We won't be moving vehicles for at least a few weeks but the Ongiara is absolutely my favourite boat and it's not even close

construction at the ferry docks is continuing apace
looks like we get the Ongiara back in service next week, and then the construction is going to start ripping up the other slips... which means the boats have to be put other places. So this winter is going to be very unusual

No, storage. Next week Pomerleau is starting to rebuild the Ongiara's slip so Ongiara has to go to Trillium's slip. Graveyard in Hamilton is a secure storage area, better than anything in Toronto

The name for the falls also comes from the Indigenous Peoples. One origin theory is that it comes from Ongiara, meaning thundering water. Another theory is that a a people called Niagagarega lived in the area and are mentioned on 17th century French maps.

also bought a pair of Captain's stripes. Unit name is ONGIARA.

I really hope I'm not jinxing myself by jumping the gun here. (hopefully we'll get the date set up for my exam this week).

Ongiara is the only one of the ferries I'm really interested in captaining.

These are going to look *good*.

the other thing I'm going to have to consider is where else am I going to put hi-vis, because one band around each leg just above the boot isn't enough hi-vis to qualify as good enough for the Ongiara. I'm going to have to figure out where to put it on the torso
