So there is this nice OpenSource app. Got it installed, but it takes up a lot of memory and CPU because, built with Vite, Next, Prisma, Posgres, Redis and tons of other things. It takes about 10 minutes to build. It's just a simple tool! Dev's need to learn to work without all that overhead.

So, having a home #k8s cluster something about Posgres HA has been bugging me a lot. When there's an electric blackout (this is #spain after all), all the pods go down. But what happens with Postgres is that the replicas go into a process to sync and elect a new master, and this takes time […]

"I said Unix socket for a damn reason." Yes, to make the point as invalid as possible xD I'm glad you didn't contradict it "but we had to write 1s and 0s over the wire!

Btw. seeing the http as superior have you already created PRs for mysql/posgres to "upgrade" their wire protocols to http? :P

Hey, just remember this post whenever you're having a rough day...at least you'll never be naive enough to think..."Well, I don't even have basic understanding of Oracle SQL, but translating from PostgreSQL should be easy." Why do I hate myself??

At this point I might as well stay up and order the iPhone 4S in 25min. Well that and figuring out what happened to my Posgres install...

I pray for the death of posgres only because to me it is a horrifying black box of evil

The expectation that python packages would work with C++ packages ... in Julia but not outside of it is even more mind blowing.

I glued together the H3 package (C++), libgeo (C++ from posgres via Python to Julia), Geodesy.jl (pure Julia) and DuckDB.

And it all worked seamlessly. Blew my mind.

We're running Rust inside of this C posgres thing, so... that was easy, right? Posgres normally allows running extensions written in C, but you can... write a Rust extension instead. #bangbangconwest

Posgres is amazing, because you can just get a database and then... decide you'd like to store graphs or json or documents in it later. It's a generic database that everyone uses, so they've run into all the problems already. #bangbangconwest

Como fica o esquema de consistência entre a main (write) e a replica? É strong consistency guaranteed? Quem garante isso?

p.s. Eu sou noob em posgres
