A bit part of the problem on Black Saturday in Victoria was that essential services websites were overloaded. While rubberneckers were only part of the burden, and of course the services are going to get smashed by those who are in the line of fire, rubberneckers are in fact part of the problem.

Yeah this is also important context, because US sports teams have been routinely targeted by conservatives for taking moral stances on basic human rights issues. So it is notable that they're willing to do this.
When the (committed non-partisan) sports teams start honoring people, that is a major sign.

Getting increasingly harder to just get through normal day to day tasks while the country crumbles around us. Like, they're shooting people in the streets, laughing about it, lying about what happened, and we're just supposed to keep sending emails?
