Segasa/Sonic Faces

I recall reading in Roger Sharpe's Pinball! how their subsidiary Segasa-Sonic was very successful in Spain, where they wanted a much faster pinball table at a steeper incline.

#pinball #PastTimesArcade Monaco (Segasa d.b.a Sonic, 1977). This two flipper EM has a maximum display point score of 999,990. It was a remake of their 1976 Cannes, but with higher points values and some rule changes. Both machines have a misspelling. Located at Past Times Arcade, Girard, OH.

The Gulf+Western conglomerate did own both Paramount and Sega, but they divested of Sega into Japanese ownership after the massive American video game industry crash of 1983. Sonic the Hedgehog didn't exist, but their Spanish subsidiary was called Segasa-Sonic for its ultra-fast pinball tables.
