Here you can generally expect video game and anime art, gothy music, and a bit of news.

I think my father had used computer labs and all manner of tech in the 1970s, and and my mother did work in a tech company in the 90s. But that did not stop them from being overwhelmed by anything from tower fans to TVs. If there is a generational defect, it's political expressions of future shock.
Admittedly, I'm kind of removed from that while looking more at like video games, anime, and goth stuff (which Carol Siegel observed is often more interested in breast size than body type). But now that I look, I see this kind of Hollywood Ozempic chic among people who shouldn't be using the drug.

"Dave Rosen came to me and said, ‘We haven’t had much luck launching Sega in the US against Nintendo, we want to set up a US division, do you want to run it? And do you want to take on Nintendo with our new 16-bit system?’"

Interesting. I thought that with "thicc" entering popular slang, we were sort of heading into a buxom aesthetic popular in eras of economic struggle and deprivation, rather than maintaining ultra-thin bodies in an era of abundance and consumption like the 1990s (i.e. anorexia chic and heroin chic).
That's the trouble, the baby boomers said that, and then disempowered millennials of any power or leverage to do it. They in fact made millennial politics the epithets of what they hated.

'Be authentic' and 'curate your personal brand' are contradictory instructions we've somehow convinced an entire generation to follow simultaneously
Believe me, video gamers are scolded quite often too, of late even being the scapegoat figure for the Republicans to rationalize their assault on medicaid.

In an extract from her posthumous memoir, Virginia Roberts Giuffre remembers the day an "apex predator" recruited her from Mar-a-Lago, aged just 16.

In a coordinated move, multiple federal agencies joined BlueSky yesterday and turned to trolling the opposition. Our Assessment on Democratic Decline warns of this autocratic practice: attacking the free press and narrowing the space in which factual reporting can safely operate without retaliation.

“If elected, the only roving gangs of costumed vigilantes on the streets of Manhattan will be the my own, not these,‘Ninja Turtles’, I can tell you that much. Mr. Mamdani, will you pledge tonight to disavow these thugs? See, he won’t answer the question.” - Curtis Sliwa during NYC mayoral debate.
Almost 65? I'll be real here, for my parents encountering many new technologies is like in 2001: A Space Odyssey when the australopithecus bands encounter the alien Monolith. It took years to get my mom to watch online streaming video via the Apple TV (my dad has repeatedly learned and forgotten).
I'm ambivalent about this concept. I want games to maintain their integrity, but I know a lot of people older than me totally bewildered by the machinery and the internal expectations of video game genres. I can't even convince my baby boomer mom to learn to use the PS5 to play DVDs and Blu-Rays.

As China adopts Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), will the U.S. be next?

VPPs digitally connect assets like EV chargers, smart thermostats, and batteries to support the grid. This provides reliable, clean power at a fraction of the cost of traditional plants.

Remember folks. The original bluesky ethos by us bluesky elders (apparently I count?) is block and move on.

Don't quote dunk, don't pick fights.
Block, and move on.

This is what made this site unpalatable to the right early on, and we can continue to make it unpalatable to them.

Change your phone's password to pattern/pin

Why isn’t @realgdt.bsky.social Frankenstein playing at every theatre? It’s Frankenstein and it’s spooky season.
I think there was a Boondocks episode about this, though at that time it pertained to Apple using his image to sell their computers with their "Think Different" ad campaign.

It's not so much society got rid of them as promoted them to leadership roles like President and CEO.
