My suggestion: bring back Peeblesshire and Selkirkshire and rename Northumberland as English Borders.

I kept the Blender 3D model for this relatively simple. Textures, figures, animals, and a scatter system for the environment helped to bring the scene to life for the final render.

Hawick District of Burghs between 1885 and 1918 consisted of Hawick (sub-Area 13), in Roxburghshire, and Selkirk (5a) and Galashiels (5b), both in Selkirkshire.

Newark Castle, Selkirkshire (Scotland) my watercolour reconstruction from 1984. Was originally inspired to do watercolour because of Newark being in Nigel Tranter's 'Black Douglas' book. #NewarkCastle #HistoryRebuilt #NigelTranter

Back to an ancestor's 1761 after-death inventory, which includes a list of all his many books. An interesting character. A Border (Peeblesshire and Selkirkshire) laird, rather eccentric by all accounts, and a Jacobite. I need to analyse this document systematically and write it up. Soon hopefully!

Or you're from one of maybe five or six towns in Roxburghshire/Selkirkshire/Berwickshire.

Very belatedly - tracing this since early 1980s! - spotted 1871 census gives more accurate birthplace for my ggg-granny Margaret Cavers, Mrs Hall. Other records say Stow parish, Midlothian or Selkirkshire. 1871 says Fairnehirst, Midlothian i.e. Ferniehirst near Torwoodlee. #genealogy #familyHistory

I particularly like the chaos of Selkirkshire being in the "South Midlands" and Roxburghshire being in the "East"
