URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 245 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 110 PM MDT Sun May 11 2025 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Eastern Idaho Northern Utah Western Wyoming * Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 110 PM until 800 PM MDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 80 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Thunderstorm intensity and coverage is expected to increase this afternoon across eastern ID, northern UT, and western WY. Environmental conditions support the potential for strong to severe storms capable of strong gusts. Isolated large hail is also possible, particularly in areas of higher terrain. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 80 statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles north northeast of Idaho Falls ID to 40 miles southwest of Salt Lake City UT. For a complete depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline update (WOUS64 KWNS WOU5). PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
